Here at ESP we want you to be as successful as you can be and have a structured, tried and tested career progression plan for all team members – whether you have worked in recruitment before or whether it is all completely new to you!

Career progression starts from day one, usually following this general structure;

  • 0-6 months – Trainee Recruitment Consultant
  • 6-12 months – 1st promotion – Recruitment Consultant or Account Executive
  • 1-3 years – 2nd promotion – Managing Consultant or Client Partner
  • 3-5 years – 3rd promotion – Executive Consultant
  • 3-6 years- 4th promotion to Director

With each promotion comes extra responsibility and a bigger challenge. Typically, this will include taking greater control of the recruitment process and being responsible for the more technical elements of the job.

There are 2 typical routes to progress your career;

1. Recruitment Consultant- Managing Consultant -Executive Consultant- Director

Initial focus being on candidate side of the recruitment process before progressing onto the client side as well

Recruitment Consultant

Resourcing and interviewing suitable candidates for live vacancies
Arrange interviews with clients, coach candidates on how to be effective at interviews and take interview feedback

Managing Consultant

Continue to improve your skills/ capability on the candidate side by taking control of more challenging elements of the recruitment process
Greater exposure to client side of recruitment including managing your own set of accounts

Executive Consultant

Master all elements of the recruitment process – ‘own’ the process for candidates and clients
Regarded as an ‘expert’ in your profession and able to manage any recruitment process as well as any senior colleague/ Director at ESP

Manage your own team of Recruitment Consultants & open new markets for ESP

2. Account Executive-Client Partner- Executive Consultant- Director

Initial focus being on client side of the recruitment process before progressing onto the candidate side as well

Account Executive

Finding suitable vacancies for candidates – building relationships, trust/ rapport with employers
Taking full job descriptions from employers – match candidates to these vacancies and arranging interviews

Client Partner

Continue to improve your skills/ capability on the client side by taking control of more challenging elements of the recruitment process
Exposure to candidate side of recruitment by taking multiple candidates and clients right through the whole recruitment process

Executive Consultant

Master all elements of the recruitment process – ‘own’ the process for candidates and clients
Regarded as an ‘expert’ in your profession and able to manage any recruitment process as well as any senior colleague/ Director at ESP

Director

Manage your own team of Recruitment Consultants & open new markets for ESP

 

Regardless of which route you take, you will be heavily supported by both senior members of the team and a dedicated management team. This will provide you with the best possible chance of becoming highly successful within the company.

Internal and external training is continual throughout your ESP career led by a team of motivated, ambitious and successful Managers and Directors.

DISC personality profiling - focusing on a behaviour assessment tool centred around four different behavioural traits; dominance, influence, steadiness and compliance. 
SCOTSMAN - specific advanced selling skills training, matching your sales to the eight Scotsman criteria.
Building effective recruitment partnerships with internal recruiters - addressing the challenges internal recruiters face and how consultants can assist to create successful outcomes.

ESP is dedicated to improving the lives of its employees as well as others around the world. 

So far we have been involved in numerous fundraising activities. We are always looking for more ways to raise money and for more causes to support. Recent fundraisers include; Wear Red to Work Day (proceeds donated to The British Heart Foundation), Wear PJs/Onesies to Work (proceeds donated to Children In Need), Christmas Jumper Day  (proceeds donated to local charities) and dressing up as sportsmen and sportswomen for Sport Relief
