Paul Thomson BSC Hons
Founder and Managing Director of ESP
Paul began his career at Opera Holdings, were he quickly became one of the companies most successful employees. He was promoted to Branch Manager and his team won ‘The Most Profitable Branch of the Year’, before moving on to becoming Sales Director responsible for an £8million recruitment business.
Paul then went on to travel the world for a year, being part of the World Cup 2002 in Japan, and supporting his travels by exporting thousands of cuddly toys.
On his return, Paul worked for two other recruitment companies winning ‘Consultant of the Year’ 2003 before establishing Enterprise Sales Personnel in 2005.
From the broom cupboard ESP was born from (no seriously), Paul has worked hard to make ESP the established and successful business that it is today.
Hobbies
Paul is known for his love of sports. He regularly plays Badminton with friends, but is known in particular for his love for Manchester City Football Club, sparking many a debate in the office.
Simon Toop BA Hons
Director, ESP
Simon has a B.A. (Hons) Degree in History and Politics from the Manchester Metropolitan University and is now a Director of ESP. With 12 years in the industry he is respected by his colleagues, clients and candidates alike and is well known as being one of the most well-connected Technology Sales Recruitment Consultants in the North of England. He provides a superior service and is regularly recommended by influential people.
Hobbies
Simon is a huge Blackburn Rovers fan and regularly plays 5-aside football himself as well as being interested in Golf amongst other sports.
James Egersdorff LLB
Senior Recruitment Consultant
James is a graduate of Law from Liverpool University and began his career in the recruitment industry working for a specialist IT Recruitment Company and was ESP’s first employee. He specialises in recruiting Scotland-based IT Sales People, Pre-Sales People and Consultants into technology companies.
He has worked on behalf of major players across the technology sector including systems integrators and software vendors and has had several promotions since starting here at ESP.
Hobbies
He is a keen sports player, enjoying squash and football and especially our regular military style circuit training sessions. He is also a champion at Fantasy Football finishing in the top 100 out of 2 million!
Zoe Elliott BA Hons
Trainee Recruitment Consultant
Zoe is one of the recent additions to our team and she is already making haste with her rapidly expanding portfolio of Clients. Zoe is a 2:1 graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University where she studied Business Management. Working closely alongside the experienced James she is making her mark in the Scottish market place and working hard during her training here.
Hobbies
Zoe is a social butterfly and along with Hayley has added some femininity to our offices. She is a fitness fanatic and was the netball captain in school and has actively continued her talents in this sport throughout her education. She is passionate about all things fashion!
Tony Boyle BMed Sci
Trainee Recruitment Consultant
Tony is one of our Trainee Recruitment Consultants and has been part of our team for two months now. He has steamed in with a passionate drive and has made a significant impact discovering excellent candidates and building his portfolio for the English IT Sales Market.
Hobbies
Tony’s passion is travelling and over the past 18 months he travelled around Europe and South East Asia and spent a year working in Australia sheering sheep. Outside of work he takes part in various sports including football, squash and snooker and regularly attends the gym. He is a keen football follower, supporting Newcastle United.
Hayley Knowles BA Hons
Digital Marketing Executive
Hayley is one of the most recent additions to the growing ESP team. A 2:1 graduate from the University of Manchester, Hayley studied Human Geography and began working for ESP in June 2011. She has currently only been working with ESP for one month and is already bursting with ideas to improve and maintain our social media, website and general marketing plans. Hayley is also responsible for the administration and has settled in quickly at ESP.
Hobbies
Hayley, like everyone at ESP, enjoys our regular military style circuit training sessions and is preparing to add the photos of these events and others to our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Hayley’s passion lies in creative writing and reading and has exciting plans for our blog and news section, hoping to add some innovative flair to the world of IT recruitment. Hayley is a huge culture vulture, enjoying all aspects of travel, classical history and art.
